Campaign: Whole Foods/Share Our Strength Holiday Campaign
Company: Whole Foods
Nonprofit Partner: Share Our Strength
Launch Date: October 27, 2011
[/box]Campaign Description:
Whole Foods is teaming up with suppliers and consumers to contribute to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry cause marketing initiative. Consumers can pitch in by donating online (matched up to $25,000); purchasing Whole Foods Gift Cards online ($1 for every card will be donated) purchasing organic Fuji apples November 14-December 25 (produce partners will donate up to $30,000) or redeeming specific flier coupons ($.40 for each coupon used will be donated).
Our Take:
Whole Foods has a long history of supporting largely local causes via individual stores, hence a high level of credibility among loyal shoppers. Kudos to Whole Foods for providing multiple points of entry and incentives that make this effort easy to join for its affluent customer base. This cause is a natural and organic fit with Whole Foods’ online holiday presence as well.
