Campaign: The Hunt: 11 Days of Doing
Company: Lenovo and Bing
Nonprofit Partner: DoSomething.org
Launch Date: July 10, 2012
Campaign Description:
Teen-focused DoSomething.org has partnered with Lenovo, the world’s second largest PC maker, and Bing, the search engine from Microsoft, to launch “The Hunt: 11 Days of Doing.” The campaign inspires young people to partake in 11 days of challenges, starting July 10, focused on creating positive community impact. Challenges will be issued to participants via www.dosomething.org/hunt and via cell phones. Teams will work together to complete all the challenges and report back to show how they created a measurable impact in their community, all while collecting points to win prizes like Lenovo IdeaPad Ultrabooks and scholarships.
Our Take:
Just in time for summer break, teen captivator DoSomething.org rolls out an open invitation and a challenge to bored teenagers everywhere: do something to give back in your local community. DoSomething.org ups the ante with desirable prizes like computers and scholarships with the support of corporate partners Bing and Lenovo. As always, DoSomething.org does a stellar job of reaching teens where they live (online and mobile) and the timing of this particular campaign is stellar. It’s easy to see how Lenovo supports this effort with computer donations but we’re somewhat at a loss to say specifically what partner Bing brings to the effort, though we’re sure it’s significant.
