VolunteerMatch conducted surveys in March and May of 2020 the results of which have provided valuable data on the state of volunteering during COVID-19. Participants ranged from nonprofit program directors to CSR practitioners to government officials to volunteers. They found that:
- 36% of CSR leaders said they’re moving at least some volunteer engagement to virtual opportunities
- 46% of nonprofits reported they have begun creating more virtual volunteer opportunities
- 28% of CSR leaders said they’re investing more than usual in corporate donations and charitable contributions
