TrueCar to donate $1 for every Instagram including #DogsInCars hashtag
SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 13, 2015 /PR Newswire/ — TrueCar has announced a new Instagram campaign to thank the furry friends that starred in their latest TV spot “#DogsInCars.” For every Instagram photo tagged #DogsInCars, TrueCar will donate $1—up to $50,000—to Best Friends Animal Society to help transport dogs from overpopulated city shelters to local adoption facilities to ensure they are adopted into forever homes. TrueCar is excited to support what it calls “Joy Rides”.
“This campaign celebrates the fact that dogs share our passion for cars,” said Lucas Donat, chief marketing officer at TrueCar. “We wanted to align the joy of car ownership with the joy of car buying, and no one gets more joy from a car ride than mankind’s best friend.”
To participate, dog lovers are encouraged to Instagram pictures of their dogs in their car using #DogsInCars, #donate, and mention @TrueCar. The user-generated posts will live on truedogsincars.com along with additional campaign details.
TrueCar is expected to generate up to 3,200 “Joy Rides” for dogs with this fun social campaign.
