Pepsi’s new short film, “Live for Now Moments Anthem”, featuring Kendall Jenner joining a street protest caused widespread condemnation on social media this week for being an opportunistic and unrealistic portrayal of the Black Lives Matter movement.
In a short statement, Pepsi said, “Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”
The video remains on YouTube with 5.7 million views on the ‘Kendall and Kylie’ page and 94,000 down votes.
