#GuaranteedLove Mental Health Week – Guaranteed Rate, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Project Healthy Minds & Wounded Warrior Project
In November, 2021, as the significant mental health challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic settled in, Guaranteed Rate, a mortgage lender, launched its Mental Health Week to provide education and resources to those who were facing mental health challenges.
It partnered with Project Healthy Minds, a millenial-driven mental health organization devoted to democratizing access to life-changing services by creating a digital mental health marketplace; Wounded Warrior Project, which honors and empowers wounded warriors and their families, focusing on their mental health, counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care; and The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, an organization focused on saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
Guaranteed Rate engaged its 10,000 employees, their vendors, family, and friends, and the general public to help them meet a $5 million fundraising goal and delivered mental health messaging via several social media channels. Internally, Guaranteed Rate gave employees one paid mental health floating holiday and another paid day off to volunteer. In addition, mental health resources became available to employees via an online, anonymous screening form which provided them with counselors who could guide them to proper help.
The program exceeded its fundraising goals—logging $5,099,999.85 over five days, with the company supporting donations with a $3-for-$1 match – and yielded substantial donations to the three nonprofit partners.
Overall the generated in excess of a million media impressions, 2,624 donations from Guaranteed Rate employees and a 100 percent satisfaction rating from employees participating in a company survey.
