Campaign: Taco Cabana Community Giving Initiative
Company: Taco Cabana
Nonprofit Partner: Warrior and Family Support Center
Launch Date: October 13, 2011
[/box]Campaign Description:
Regional restaurant chain Taco Cabana is building on a successful employee volunteering program with Fort Sam Houston, Texas’ Warrior and Family Support Center (WFSC) by selling coupon books, good for 5 bean and cheese burritos, in exchange for a $1 donation to WFSC through the end of October. Additionally, anyone showing a valid military ID or wearing a military uniform will receive a 20% discount year-round.
Our Take:
This classic register donation program offers a nice fit between this 3-state regional chain and the 25 military bases located in those particular states, and takes the time to share the story behind their cause of choice and future plans to support that cause in communications like their press release. While the campaign is discussed on the Taco Cabana Facebook page, it’s noticeably absent from their website. An overall donation goal or minimum donation, however small, would be a valuable addition to this otherwise solid campaign.
