Program Collects Donations of Gently Used Professional Attire to Help Americans Get Back to Work.
FREMONT, Calif., June 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — On July 1, Men’s Wearhouse will team up with fashion expert and television personality Tan France to kick off its 11th annual Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive, a month-long initiative that collects gently-used professional clothing for Americans transitioning back into the workforce.
Donations collected at Men’s Wearhouse stores throughout July will be distributed to more than 150 local non-profit organizations across the country that help disadvantaged individuals regain employment through job readiness programs and workforce assistance. Over the past ten years, the Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive has collected more than 1.6 million items of professional clothing.
France knows that a well-fitting suit offers more than great style – it’s a catalyst for looking and feeling confident. “As a stylist, my goal is to help people be the best version of themselves. The Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive shares this mission, giving Americans the opportunity to put their best foot forward as they seek employment,” said France. “Each donation to the Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive represents a new beginning. It provides a chance to ‘outfit’ someone with the courage and spirit to nail a job interview.”
People can donate their gently-used professional clothing, including men’s and women’s suits, ties, jackets, shirts, pants, belts and shoes at more than 750 Men’s Wearhouse locations across the country. As a thank you, donors will receive 50 percent off their next purchase of regular priced retail items (excluding shoes, clearance, custom and Exceptional Value items).
“The Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive collects professional clothing, but it collects much more than that. It gives men and women reentering the workforce the chance to enter the room confidently and make a solid first impression in a job interview,” said Doug Ewert, CEO of Tailored Brands, Inc. “In a competitive job market, poise and self-assurance can be deciding factors in who gets the job.”
“Our focus is providing the tools and assistance to empower our clients as they navigate their job search, and we’re thrilled to partner with Men’s Wearhouse to fulfill this mission,” said Scott Wilderman, President and CEO of Career Resources, Inc., one of the many nonprofit organizations across the country that partners with the Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive. “A positive, confident attitude is crucial in a job search. Thanks to the Men’s Wearhouse Suit Drive, our clients can suit up for success and approach the next opportunity with the right frame of mind to secure employment.”
