Allstate
Allstate is the nation’s largest publicly held personal lines insurer in America with 78,000 employees, agency owners and agency staff. In addition to protecting approximately 16 million households from life’s uncertainties through auto, home, life and other insurance, Allstate strives to improve the quality of life for millions of Americans through their commitment to communities.
Allstate relies on a strong local presence and upstanding reputation to deliver its services throughout the United States and Canada so being an integral part of the community is critical to their success. Engaging employees and agency owners is also a top priority to the long-term health of the company, particularly with its millennial cohort.
Under their “Our Shared Purpose” umbrella and over the past decade, Allstate has helped transform the domestic violence issue through Allstate Foundation Purple Purse, focused on ending abuse through a proven solution: financial empowerment services for survivors. The initiative has delivered more than $50 million in programs designed to offer solutions to reduce financial abuse, which is often a significant factor in victims’ ability to break free and stay free of their abusers. Over the last two years, they’ve raised nearly $5.5 million to help nonprofits build their capacity to meet survivors’ needs.
A more recent focus for Allstate is youth empowerment. In collaboration with WE, Allstate’s Good Starts Young initiative aims to inspire the country’s next generation of leaders to reach its full potential, serve causes that benefit the greater good and make the world a better place. More than 1.7 million youth have participated in Good Starts Young programs to date.
“Allstate is an excellent example of a company that lives at the intersection of cause and commerce,” said Engage for Good President David Hessekiel, “From its focus on engaging employee and agency owners in their work to empower youth and transform the domestic violence issue through financial empowerment, Allstate truly brings their ‘Good Hands’ motto to life for their many stakeholders.”
