CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

At Engage for Good, we believe in collaborative content creation. As a speaker, you’ll partner with our team to develop a session that is engaging, informative, and aligned with the conference’s goals, conference track, and your expertise. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Initial Brainstorming: Once you’ve accepted your invitation, we’ll schedule a call to brainstorm ideas and discuss your session’s goals and key takeaways.
  2. Content Outline: We’ll work together to create an outline of your session, ensuring a clear structure and logical flow.
  3. Feedback & Refinement: You’ll turn that outline into a deck, and we’ll provide feedback and guidance throughout the content development process, helping you refine your message and ensure it resonates with our audience. This will also include group coaching from a professional speaking coach.
  4. Final Deck Submission: You’ll submit your final presentation deck by March 25, 2025, allowing time for review, making any necessary adjustments, and final practice with your co-presenters.

Our goal is to support you in creating a presentation that showcases your expertise, inspires our audience, and contributes to the overall success of EFG2025!

SESSION OVERVIEW

We pride ourselves on being a conference that shares a treasure trove of strategies, frameworks, and actionable insights that attendees can immediately implement to achieve greater impact, and you are a vital part of making this a reality.

EFG attendees span different issues and cause areas–from hunger to DEI, animal rights to education, and everything in between–so we ask speakers to share learnings, frameworks, and key takeaways that can be applied to other organizations, regardless of cause area. A strong emphasis should be placed on your process–as opposed to just results–to demonstrate how others can replicate your success and learnings. With our theme being Partnerships for Collective Impact, we are especially interested in showcasing how cross-team and sector collaboration can lead to impactful outcomes.

*All sessions will include an EFG2025-branded slide deck.*

Breakout Sessions

This is an engaging 60-minute presentation with interactive elements that provide attendees with actionable insights and inspire them to implement new ideas. The 1-hour slot must include 15 minutes of Q&A.

We strongly advise that you include an interactive (show of hands, poll, etc.) or discussion component into your session, and we will be looking for directions for that activity in your presentation.

Keynote Sessions

Keynote sessions should be inspirational and provide inside knowledge, lessons learned, and/or timely data.

We will coordinate an on-site A/V run-through with you prior to your keynote address to ensure all looks as you expect and so that you may familiarize yourself with the set-up.

Pre-Conference Summits

You will work closely with us and fellow summit leaders to create content that blends well with the collegial nature of these gatherings.

Workshop Sessions

Workshop sessions should provide in-depth, hands-on learning with concrete takeaways for attendees. These highly interactive 90-minute sessions might include activities like group discussions, worksheet completion, or plan development.

PRESENTATIONS

Templates
The conference presentation template is available for download via Dropbox

Submitting your Presentations
Presentations are due March 21. Please clearly name your presentation (Speaker/ Company – Session Title) and upload it to the “EFG2025 Speaker Decks” Dropbox folder.

Are You Planning To Use Video?
If you plan to use videos, you’ll need to embed your videos into your slide deck. Recommended formats are .avi, .mp4 or .mov. Sorry, no internet video will be permitted due to low quality and buffering challenges. If you are a main stage speaker, we’ll require the video file in addition to having it embedded in your deck.

EFG'S FIVE KEY TIPS FOR ENSURING YOUR PRESENTATION IS A SUCCESS

  1. Ensure your session is cause-agnostic, meaning it will be valuable to attendees regardless of their specific cause area. Your cause(s) can be examples or case studies, but the session should be broad enough that the best practices and key takeaways are helpful regardless of whether an attendee’s cause area is education, veterans, LGBTQ+, or something else.
  2. Share the “how.” Don’t just share *that* you did something; share how you did it, including successes and challenges you experienced along the way so attendees can replicate parts of your processes & success.
  3. Engage your audience – use polls, encourage raised hands, and facilitate Q&A. Engage them within the first five minutes and link that engagement to the session’s topic.
  4. While it’s important to share about your organization, keep it brief – think of it as an elevator pitch. The majority of your presentation should focus on the topic we discussed, trends, best practices, lessons learned, and practical insights.
