MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Tomorrow, Oct. 3, is Donate Profits Day hosted by Chili’s® Grill & Bar to raise awareness and support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Guests who dine-in or carry-out from any Chili’s location on this day will walk away with not only their Chili’s favorites, but also the satisfaction of knowing they are helping to ensure no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Donate Profits Day is the culmination of Chili’s Create-A-Pepper campaign, which ran from Sept. 10 to Oct. 3. During the campaign, Chili’s Guests used a simple tool – a crayon – to support St. Jude patient families. Throughout the campaign, Chili’s Guests simply colored a pepper and donated $1 to the hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Chili’s has supported the St. Jude mission since 2002 in a variety of ways, raising approximately $68 million for St. Jude to date. In 2006, Chili’s made their first multi-year commitment to raise $50 million in a 10-year period – one of the largest single-partner donations in St. Jude history – to build the state-of-the-art Chili’s Care Center, which opened in 2007. Currently, Chili’s is in its second multi-year commitment to St. Jude of raising $30 million in six years to enhance the work of the St. Jude School Program presented by Chili’s, which provides an outlet for patients to continue their education while receiving treatment and gives them a sense of normalcy.
“Donate Profits Day and the Create-A-Pepper campaign present a fun and convenient way for Chili’s Guests and Team Members to support patient families at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude. “Chili’s commitment each and every day to help save the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases has embodied what true corporate social responsibility is about. When nonprofit and for-profit companies come together, we make the world a better place.”
Chili’s will donate up to $350,000 on Donate Profits Day. Find the Chili’s location nearest to you here, and learn more about how Chili’s supports St. Jude at stjude.org/chilis.
