Allstate's new cause marketing program, “Quotes for Autism Speaks”, will donate $10 to nonprofit Autism Speaks for every insurance quote that is completed between November 14 and December 14, 2011, with the goal of raising $500,000 for the cause.
Our Take:
Allstate seems to have personal reason to support an organization such as Autism Speaks. Their EVP of Marketing and Sales has twin boys with autism and the campaign page on Autism Speaks showcases other employees with autistic children. Clearly there's a story to be told here but from our perspective, it seems the dots between cause, employee, brand and consumer could use some connecting. That said, the campaign is clear-cut and simple to understand, always desirable in today's world of information overload.
