Laminate flooring pioneer Pergo has announced a new cause marketing partnership with Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS). Pergo installed flooring at a BFAS shelter in Los Angeles, and then produced a video of the animal antics showing the floors being overrun by puppies, cats, chickens, pigs and even a pony and withstanding an extreme setting. In a digital component of the partnership, for every fan who likes the “Pergo vs. Claws” video on the brand’s Facebook page, Pergo will donate $1 to Best Friends Animal Society up to $50,000.
Our Take:
This campaign brings brand and cause to life in a lighthearted way that effectively delivers a substantive message for both partners. Pergo proves its flooring is tough and BFAS is able to showcase their adorable animals – a true win-win. Using video to capture this story and power the digital component of this campaign is a smart choice and lends itself well to social sharing. We like that the Facebook interface not only provides more information about the Pergo product but also that it features adoptable animals.
