Online organizer AboutOne will sponsor a twitter party on November 15th (#AOThanks) armed with $5600 in prizes and an impressive list of partners including Microsoft, Fisher-Price, Cozi, Suze Orman, Build-A-Bear and Baby Center. Attendees will be asked to make a donation to one of three nonprofit organizations: Operation Shower, HERA Women's Cancer Foundation, and OPPORTUNITIES
Our Take:
Here's a cause campaign that demonstrates the power of an engaged community. AboutOne has an ambitious goal of raising $1 million in a single online engagement by calling on those activated online communities to each donate $1 or more to a good cause. If they succeed, this will be one model more nonprofit organizations and companies would be smart to emulate.
