Campaign: Occupy Cal-Tort Day
Company: California Tortilla
Nonprofit Partner: Local Food Banks
Launch Date: October 26, 2011
[/box]Campaign Description:
Mid-Atlantic fast-casual restaurant chain California Tortilla will donate 1% of gross sales on October 26th in an event it’s dubbed “Occupy Cal-Tort Day“, playing off of the “Occupy” movement around the globe. Consumers will receive free chips and queso when they repeat the event name to the cashier, make their own sign or present a printed version of the campaign ad. For each original “Occupy Cal Tort” sign uploaded to California Tortilla’s Facebook page, the company will donate $1 to local food banks.
Our Take:
It’s cute. It’s clever. We’re happy to see a new player entering the cause space. Additional details on their contribution (such as making it clear whether they’ve placed a minimum or a maximum on their donation) would make this campaign all the better.
