Campaign: Kohl's Love to Give, Happy to Save
Company: Kohl's Department Stores
Nonprofit Partner: Feeding America, Toys for Tots
Launch Date: November 1
[/box]Campaign Description:
Through December 23rd, Kohl's is inviting customers and fans to share their holiday giving stories and help allocate $500,000 in donations to Feeding America and Toys for Tots. Based on user votes, 600 participants will win Kohl’s gift cards for themselves and direct a $500 donation from Kohl’s to either Feeding America or Toys for Tots. Each winner receives the chance to win an additional $2,500 Kohl’s gift card and the opportunity to allocate a $25,000 donation to either of the selected charities.
Our Take:
We've seen lots of cause marketing campaigns on Facebook and this is a shining example. Tapping into users' holiday shopping habits and incentivizing participation with $100 gift cards is a fantastic way to draw additional interest to two timely causes and to Kohl's themselves. Weekly winner announcements keeps interest high. Guaranteeing a $75,000 minimum and including only 2 charities nicely simplifies this campaign in a cluttered space.
