Campaign: Go Red for Women
Company: Macy's
Nonprofit Partner: American Heart Association
Launch Date: 1/23/2012
[/box]Campaign Description:
In its 9th year, Macy's will again support AHA's Go Red for Women cause-related marketing campaign with an annual Wear Red Sale, where customers wearing anything red enjoy a 10% or 20% discount on merchandise; a collection of exclusive red dresses with 10% of the purchase price donated to the AHA, and a variety of in-store events. Starting February 1, consumers can also visit the Macy's Facebook page to give a virtual conversation heart, or tweet using #heart@Macys which will both generate a $2 donation to AHA (maximum $250,000).
Our Take:
When Macy's undertakes a cause campaign, they go big and integrated, ensuring consumers plenty of opportunity to participate. This campaign is a perfect example. This long-standing campaign has raised more than $28 million for Go Red and continues to up the ante each year to raise awareness for a cause close to the hearts of their core customers.
