The United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life initiative has launched their second Blogust effort. Every day in August, an influential writer will share a blog post about a young person who is important in their life or an experience of their own at a certain age. For every comment on any of the 31 posts, Walgreens Pharmacy will donate a life-saving vaccine (up to 50,000 vaccines) to children around the world.
Our Take
This campaign is a prime way to leverage the huge power of online influencers in a way that makes a difference for a tangible cause. Blogging communities have long been trained to add their voices to an important conversation via blog comments. This effort harnesses the power of those comments for good.
