ATLANTA, Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Boys & Girls Clubs of America announced that Buffalo Wild Wings, together with Guests and Franchisees, raised more than $1.2 million during its annual fundraising promotion in October. The funds will create more team sports opportunities for thousands of Boys & Girls Club kids and teens across the country next year.
As part of its Team Up for Kids initiative and partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Buffalo Wild Wings supports youth sport experiences that help children build important skills on and off the field, like communication, collaboration and self-confidence. The company donated 100 percent of every paper pinup and cell phone accessory purchased in-restaurant in October, as well as 10 percent of all e-gift card purchases.
Buffalo Wild Wings has raised more than $18 million to-date through its Team Up for Kids mission, which supports ALL STARS grants for Boys & Girls Clubs. From sportsmanship to teamwork, the ALL STARS team sports program gives thousands of youth the opportunity to learn life lessons that will help them grow into productive, caring and responsible citizens.
“Due to the high costs associated with starting and maintaining a team sports program, not all children have access to sports leagues as they grow up,” said Jennifer Bateman, National Vice President, Health, Wellness and Gender with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “Buffalo Wild Wings understands the immense value that team sports impart on young players, and they are deeply committed to expanding opportunities for communities across the country. We’re grateful to have Buffalo Wild Wings as a partner for yet another successful year.”
In 2017, Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s partnership with Buffalo Wild Wings enabled more than 170,000 kids and teens to participate in team sports at Clubs across the country. In total, Buffalo Wild Wings has committed to donating more than $22 million to Boys & Girls Clubs of America through 2020.
“Together with our Guests and Franchisees, Buffalo Wild Wings has raised more than $18 million and helped thousands of kids experience the joy of playing on an ALL STARS team since 2013,” said Lyle Tick, president, Buffalo Wild Wings. “We were thrilled to continue this successful program this year, ultimately allowing more kids the opportunity to play team sports in our local communities.”
