Every year, we hear awesome stories about powerful connections made at the Cause Marketing Forum — new clients, new partners and sometimes just a really amazing friend.
Consider the value of making a new connection — one that truly matters in your daily life. If you’re already registered for the conference, you can wait with anticipation to see who you’ll meet this year. If you’re not registered yet, ask yourself if it’s worth the time away from your office, the budget, the travel to meet the one person who could make a difference in your world. Then register!
DoSomething.org’s Aria Finger wanted to share a connection she made with you at Cause Marketing Forum — here’s Aria:
We’ve decided to be better about collecting these “match making” stories about Cause Marketing Forum. If YOU have a great story about a contact you met at the conference, share it below in the comments. Because we know worthy causes are close to your heart, when you enter in a relevant story below, we’ll chip in another $5 to the One Fund Boston.
Several years ago I arrived at the opening dinner and the first new person I met was David Rice from Flow Nonfiction http://www.flownonfiction.com. It was David’s first CMF (my Nth) and it was really cool to connect with him and later get to know the Flow team and their amazing work. We’ve kept in touch with the team at Flow, look forward to their regular dispatches and now, three years later, Flow reached out to our team at Cause Consulting to facilitate their panel at CMF 13! It’s an honor to be in such great company!!
I’m clearly biased but I attended my first Cause Marketing Forum Conference in 2010 before doing any work with CMF. I was star-struck to meet Joe Waters of http://www.SelfishGiving.com, Chris Noble of http://www.CauseMediaGroup.com, Chris Jarvis and Angela Parker of http://www.RealizedWorth.com and Cindy Esposito and Greg Schneider of http://www.3BLMedia.com.
Today I co-host the Cause Talk Radio podcast with Joe and know that for anything digital, I can tweet @cfnoble. Anything employee engagement, I pick up the phone to call Chris and Angela and for anything media, I email Cindy or Greg.
For how I met David Hessekiel and ended up working FOR Cause Marketing Forum…well, that’s fodder for an entirely separate post!
My first CMF was #2 where I ran into an old friend from college – Tracey. We had lost touch but reconnected and are still connected!
But my best was last year when I met with other International NGO’s and we started talking about cross-border cause marketing campaigns. We kept talking after CMF and are connecting with other international NGO’s at this year’s CMF to talk broader about global CRM. Can’t wait!
I’ve always leave CMF with a renewed passion for cause marketing and sense of admiration for the amazing people who are working to make a difference. I met Aaron Schiller of Causes.com at CMF in 2012, and reached out to him as I was developing the strategy for the next phase of the Kashi REAL Project. This led to a great partnership that launched earlier this year on Causes.com/Kashi which will greatly expand the reach of our efforts to help more people enjoy healthy foods.
I remember the first phone call I received from David Hessekiel when he was sharing his vision for an inaugural Cause Marketing Forum back in 2003. That phone call has led to an amazing professional relationship and personal friendship that I will treasure always. Each year, at the CMF, I’ve made amazing new friends and connections – and if I start naming them here, you will certainly glaze over with the volume. So, I just want to say THANK YOU David and THANK YOU Cause Marketing forum for bringing the industry players together each year! Mollye Rhea, President and Founder, For Momentum, LLC.
