Campaign Description:
Through a new cause marketing partnership with DonorsChoose.org, Skype will donate $250,000 to teachers requesting technology materials to enable Skype video calling in their classrooms such as laptops, netbooks, and webcams to help them connect with other classrooms, experts and teachers. Skype will give a $25 USD DonorsChoose.org Gift Card to each new teacher who registers for Skype in the classroom. Skype will also provide a 50% match on “Double Your Impact” projects that have the Skype logo.
Our Take:
This partnership between DonorsChoose.org and Skype is a match made in technology heaven. Both partners have a large, actively engaged online user base and this partnership seems to make good use of each partner’s strengths. The use of matching dollars is always a smart way to increase consumer participation and share cross-partner awareness.
