FindYourFaceMate.com, an online dating site, unveiled New York City's largest mistletoe in a new cause marketing campaign. For every couple that kisses under the giant mistletoe December 12 and 13th, FindYourFaceMate.com will donate $1 to Operation Smile, up to $20,000. Anyone who can't make it to the giant mistletoe in person can “like” Find Your FaceMate on Facebook to unlock a $1 donation to Operation Smile as part of the overall commitment.
Our Take:
We can't help but smile at this somewhat-over-the-top yet charming holiday cause campaign. As we see so often, FindYourFacemate.com is leveraging the power of cause to draw additional attention and participation from consumers during this giving-focused time of year. Unfortunately, even though there purportedly is a Facebook component of the campaign, there's no mention of it (or the nonprofit) on their Facebook page.
