Campaign: Coins for Caring
Company: TD Bank
Nonprofit Partner: The One Fund Boston
Launch Date: April 23, 2013
Campaign Description:
Now through May 12, TD Bank is encouraging people to use the bank’s Penny Arcade coin counting machines to donate their coins to the ‘Coins for Caring‘ campaign. Customers near TD Bank stores that do not have a Penny Arcade or are in other geographic locations can make cash donations for The One Fund Boston at their nearest store. In addition to the ‘Coins for Caring’ campaign, TD Bank Group donated $50,000 to The One Fund Boston last week.
Our Take:
We’ve seen impressive donation activity being funneled to The One Fund Boston. It is fitting for this regional bank to enable customers to drop their loose change to support their neighbors in the wake of this tragedy. Native Bostonian and fellow cause crusader Joe Waters has started a Pinterest Board with a multitude of donation programs – do check it out. What other examples have you seen of businesses engaging consumers after the Boston bombing?
